Aaron's solution when I called to tell him was for me to get the shovel and chop off it's head. I told him I couldn't do it. I hate the beastie.

We threw rocks at the bunnies in our garden. Didn't have such great results. Had to use a shovel . . .
when we were kids there was a mouse under the rugs in our basement, so we stomped it to death.....and didn't tell mom & dad......until they started to smell it.......then they found it days later.......use a shovel!
